November 12, 2024 Microsoft announced price changes for online services purchased through the Microsoft Customer Agreement – Direct with Microsoft (MCA-E), over the internet and through partners (Cloud Solution Provider, or CSP partners).
Note: alle prices mentioned are November 2024 suggested resell prices and only for example and calculation purposes. This is not a Quexcel price list, nor an offer.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Starting December 1, 2024 Microsoft introduces the option to pay per month for an annual subscription. Downside: there is a 5% price lift for monthly payments. The option to pay per month is for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales and Microsoft 365 Copilot for Service.
Example: Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently priced US$ 360 user/year (equals US$ 30 user/month). With the new monthly payment option the price will be US$ 31.50 user/month. For Sales and Service the new monthly price will be US$ 52.50 user/month.
Price increase annual subscriptions with monthly payment
Microsoft also announced that starting April 1st, 2025, the annual subscriptions with monthly payment (for all seat-based online services) will get a 5% uplift. Example for Microsoft 365 E3 commercial for calculation purposes below:
Online Services subject to the price increase are Microsoft 365 (all), Office 365 (all), Windows 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Power Platform products, Dynamics 365 and all other online services with User based licensing (User Subscription License, USL).
Price increase Power BI and Teams Phone
Apart from the 5% price increase for monthly payments with annual subscriptions, there are some plain price increases for some online services announced. Power BI User plans and (all) Teams Phone subscription licenses get a price increase for the annual subscription with annual payment. Again, the monthly payment option will get the 5% uplift as well. In the table below an overview of the new prices (starting April 1, 2025), per product (term/billing period) in US$:
Running subscriptions
Customers who have a running subscription are protected against the price increase. Only at renewal of their subscription they will be affected by the new pricing. Example: if Contoso starts an annual subscription for Power BI Pro on March 1st, 2025, they will have the same (current) price until renewal at March 1st, 2026. But if they would start a subscription at April 15, 2025, they are subject to the new pricing.
If Contoso is using month-to-month subscriptions, they new price would affect them in May 2025.
